The new Carrefour.ro portal, developed with the help of Tremend

In May, with the support of Tremend, Carrefour launched the unique portal www.carrefour.ro, a new and continuously evolving project which reunites carrefour-online.ro shop, carrefour.ro institutional web site, the retailer’s own apparel brand Tex, tex.carrefour.ro, and the employer branding web site- lumea-carrefour.ro. At the same time, the new platform brings to its clients the first Marketplace system developed by a FMCG retailer in Romania under the “Carrefour & Partners” section. For developing it, Tremend employed advanced technologies to solve some complex problems regarding the integration of the online Carrefour systems and the offline ones created for taking the orders and preparing them in the hypermarkets. This way, the Click & Collect system with its two aspects- the online ordering and the product pickup inside the hypermarkets- was a technical challenge Tremend successfully surpassed.

The development of the Carrefour & Partners segment of the digital platform was a big challenge from the scalability and total accessibility point of view. The platform reunites tens of Carrefour partners, over 150.000 products and an ever-growing number of end users. At the same time, the products ordered online in this section can be delivered anywhere in the country or picked up in any Click & Collect point in the Carrefour hypermarkets at a national level. This is a first for a FMCG retailer.

Carrefour offers its clients in Romania multiple shopping possibilities both through its 320 shops around the country and the portal www.carrefour.ro.
In addition, through the Bringo platform, freely available in Google Play and App Store, Carrefour offers its clients in Iasi, Bucuresti, Cluj si Constanta over 50.000 products at hypermaket prices with 90 min. delivery time.
Also through Gurmandio, the clients from Iasi, Suceava, Botosani, Piatra-Neamt, Galati si Targu-Jiu can order a variety of products both from Carrefour gastronomic section and local restaurants with free delivery and multiple paying options.
Carrefour developed innovative paying methods for its clients, like Carrefour Pay for checking prices and paying directly through the app. Last year, Carrefour launched in its Baneasa shop ”Casa ta-Self Service” allowing clients to scan and pay by themselves for their purchases.
Carrefour supports the local communities through relevant programs, Cooperativa Agricola Carrefour Varaesti being one of them. It brings the local producers closer to the Carrefour clients.
In April this year, Carrefour Romania launched Filiera Calitatii Carne de Manzat hence offering its clients quality products at a competitive price point through long-term partnerships with local producers. This was the forth “Filiera” besides the ones for potato, carrots and pork.
